When you arrive at the practice, the first thing to note is the gorgeous scenery; we are located next to the Cally Woods, which are perfect for a walk post-visit. We are very lucky to have ample car parking and an accessible building.

Reception

Step inside to our intentionally sized reception area and waiting room. Our practice is purpose built and this area is smaller in size to help reduce stress to patients by having less animals waiting in this area. Our feline friends have also been considered, as we have hidden cat shelves to help reduce anxiety and have them hidden from dogs. You will always be warmly welcomed by a friendly face and soon your pets will feel this is their favourite place to be due to our seasonal biscuit jars that never run empty! We are accessibility friendly and happy to assist clients with any additional requirements. Also feel free to browse our shop area while you wait!

Consultation Rooms

Our practice has two purpose built consultation rooms, designed with your pets in mind. We have opted for fold-down consult tables, used very rarely with dogs, in order to reduce stress for patients who would prefer to remain on the ground. This also allows more space for free roaming in the consult room. A jar full of biscuits is always on-hand in to promote positive relationships between patients and these rooms, as entering a consultation room is often the first point of anxiety for patients.

Surgical Theatre

The practice hosts a purpose built prep area and separate surgical theatre, which has been designed to be efficient, practical and with infection control in mind. In these spaces we carry out surgeries and procedures from neutering to emergency surgery. Our prep area is where all patients will be prepared for surgery and induced for anaesthesia. Minor procedures and dental surgery is also carried out in this room – utilising our purpose built tub table. Sterile procedures and surgeries are then transferred to our surgical theatre, where we have gold-standard anaesthetic monitoring equipment and a top-of the range surgical table. Both our prep area and theatre are equipped with piped oxygen and active scavenging, reducing medical waste and our carbon footprint.

Diagnostic Imaging

We have a specially dedicated X-ray room which hosts our digital X-ray equipment. Our digital X-ray offers increased speed and quality over other methods. The X-ray room is also kitted out with piped oxygen and active scavenging, allowing us to safely maintain our patients under sedation or anaesthetic, whilst they have their imaging carried out. We also have a high-definition and ultra-portable ultrasound machine available at the practice, meaning our vets are able carry this out in-consult with you or through in our prep area. These services provide acquisition and image interpretation of internal structures, carried out in-house.

Laboratory

In our on-site lab we have access to blood biochemistry and haematology machines – allowing us to get a better picture of our patients underlying health and receive quicker results than if we were to send this to an external laboratory. We also have the means to run in-house cytology, utilising our microscope. Our in-house lab also allows us to run basic urinalysis with instant results. Our caring staff use fear-free handling techniques and positive reinforcement to obtain samples, giving your pets a compassionate approach that helps reduce stress and anxiety during your their visits.

We also have teamed with Idexx, a global leader in veterinary diagnostics, to extend our in-house capabilities and offer a vast array of diagnostic testing via their external laboratories.
